The
collection of data, aggregation of trends, and identification of best
practices and lessons learning about critical incidents that occur
in the delivery of Emergency Medical Services can lead to the development
of operational improvements for the entire EMS industry. The IIOE
Critical Incident Reporting System (CIRS) is being developed to offer
a mechanism to manage organizational knowledge, share ideas, and promote
learning in the areas of patient safety incidents, vehicular incidents,
equipment failures, and workforce incidents.
There
are two options for participation in the CIRS:
-
Anonymous reporting with national aggregate reporting of the
data supplied.
