Pine Tree Section (Maine)
The Pine Tree State Section of ASQ received
its charter in 1971. We serve quality, manufacturing,
technical, administrative and management professionals
in both the manufacturing and service industries,
(including education and government). We serve
throughout the mid-coast, central, southern
and western Maine areas as well as parts of
New Hampshire and the Maritime Provinces.
Membership affords numerous benefits to anyone
interested in furthering their professional

For 50 years the ASQ Quality Management
Division (QMD) has been dedicated to advancing

and support. We do this through an array

National Accreditation Board
The Registrar Accreditation
Board (RAB) ceased operations as of January
1, 2005. RAB's accreditation programs for
management systems certification bodies
are now operated by the ANSI-ASQ National
Accreditation Board. The auditor certification
and auditor training provider programs of
RAB are now operated by RABQSA International.
Baldrige National Quality
Program
The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
was created by Public Law 100-107, signed
into law on August 20, 1987. The Award Program,
responsive to the purposes of Public Law
100-107, led to the creation of a new public-private
partnership. Principal support for the program
comes from the Foundation for the Malcolm
Baldrige National Quality Award, established
in 1988.
Commission
on Accreditation of Ambulance Services
The Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance
Services was established to encourage and
promote quality patient care in America's
medical transportation system. Based initially
on the efforts of the American Ambulance Association,
the independent Commission established a comprehensive
series of standards for the ambulance service
industry.
